i wasn't totally sold on the scent when i initially smelled it before lighting, but the first time it rained i lit it up and it completed the rainy day vibe while i was still cozied up and warm under a blanket. it's a lovely change from stronger scents (though there's a time and place for all smells!)

I have searched far and wide for the perfect scent. I'm so happy I discovered Cantrip after taking a walk around the neighborhood and walking into their store back in 2021. I keep coming back to purchase this scent, which smells like walking through an old, moss filled cathedral. I LOVE THIS CANDLE SO MUCH. I might move away from LA, but trust that I will continue to order this candle to NYC. Also, if you have not been to their storefront in LA, go visit! It's gorgeous and they offer classes!

I've been really torn as to whether this or Brinewater Tides is my favorite, but I think in the end, I have to choose this one. Brinewater, I have to keep in the house for game nights. This one, I need to have ready for those long stretches where the Texas heat and sun are out in full force and I'm missing rainy days. I was so excited about how well it replicated the scent of one when I first smelled it— I must have mentioned it to everyone I interacted with that day, because my mind was absolutely blown. It has such a perfect, satisfyingly damp petrichor-type scent, and I really love the fresh earth note underneath.

Okay, don't laugh: this candle smells cool and wet. I know that sounds weird! Don't run away! It's actually amazing! Making something hot enough to be ON FIRE smell like it's cool and damp is seriously magical to me!

The herbal and moss scent is calming, and has been a lifesaver over the last few years when I've been unable to get outside for the real thing. I love this candle.

Okay so. This specific candle smells exactly like the woods near my grandparents house after a heavy rain. I found myself in those woods, and to have that comfort at my fingertips is a blessing. I've tried other candlemakers, but honestly nothing comes close to Cantrip Candles. I have a dice box for JUST the D20's from the candles. There's....a lot. No regrets!
