"You've outdone yourself with the batch this time, Sven!" Clarice exclaims after her first bite of marmalade toast. "Subtle on the dandelion, and the apricot was perfectly ripe-"

"Ooh," Frederick cuts in as he approaches, "I can smell it! Feels like it's officially spring now! Cut me a slice and load it up, 'ey? Or two slices. Or three."

"You're going to eat me out of house and home, gotta leave enough for the rest of us," Sven rejoins with amusement, but is already resolving to slip Frederick his own bottle of marmalade later as a treat. "You'll take one, and don't let it distract you on your western patrol."

The noise of complaint that follows makes Clarice laugh.
