The star anise note is strong here, though less so once the candle is lit, so if you're not a licorice enjoyer do be aware of that--but I am, and I love this candle. It's sweet and mysterious, with stony undertones that come and go, and just enough brightness from the pomegranate not to be heavy or cloying without tipping into being a fresh and fruity kind of scent.

The description of the scent as "seductive, umbral, sophisticated" is dead-on, if you'll pardon the pun. Graveyards are an interesting choice for the little blurb, especially with the pomegranate; Persephone and Hades feels like a much better comparison, though I suppose one linked to a specific real-world entity in a way that most of the Cantrip Candles descriptors avoid. Fantastic candle; I'll be buying it again, in a larger size, when this one runs out.
