Pride: Backgrounds is an exploration of class, pride, repression, and the longing that shadows many gay men. It’s an homage to a time when queer love was hidden — tender, forbidden, and unspeakably difficult to sustain. Each 9 oz. Backgrounds candle comes with a letter from the character’s partner, revealing the other side of a love story marked by distance, risk, and restraint.

Introducing Tomas Hillson, a farmer tending a modest plot in Arabelle, nestled in the Cathpasian countryside. Raised close to the land, Tomas took naturally to the rhythms of harvest — strength in his hands, patience in his bones. Far from the cloistered schools of the city, he traded books for calluses, but carries the quiet wisdom that only a life well lived can offer. When word came that a noble would be visiting his family’s farmstead, he couldn't have known just how deep a connection would take root.
