Pride: Backgrounds is an exploration of class, pride, repression, and the longing that shadows many gay men. It’s an homage to a time when queer love was hidden — tender, forbidden, and unspeakably difficult to sustain. Each 9 oz. Backgrounds candle comes with a letter from the character’s partner, revealing the other side of a love story marked by distance, risk, and restraint.

Introducing Prince Victor of Cathpasia — son of Queen Antares and far from the line of succession. With little political ambition required of him, Victor spends his days in dull courtly meetings, hosting distant nobles, and mastering a variety of instruments. Though raised in refinement, repression clings to him like perfume… yet it has never quite extinguished his restless longing for the world beyond the palace walls.
