campaign-the-secrets-of-halmurrin
Campaign: The Secrets of Halmurrin

Hello Adventurers, or as you will soon be known Unearthers, let me tell you a tale of a mountain. For Thousands of years a drow civilization lived and mined beneath the Mountain known as Halmurrin. The gems torn from its soil are said to be filled with magic only a god can bestow and fetch quite a price in trade. But as the Drows drilled further upward with their ambitions they inadvertently broke the surface, drawing the eyes of enterprising invaders. Now, nearly three thousand years later, we find ourselves the denizens of this city in a time of disquiet and unease.

What happens to a civilization when the keys to their cities change hands? Are their legacies, traditions, and secrets erased or merely buried? What hides in dark corners of the city in the belly of the mountain? What lurks in the mines where no one dares to dig? Wyrms or something more? These are the mysteries we will unearth beneath the mountain top.

This Campaign will use 2024 DND 5e mechanics as a foundation with some homebrewed rules from the PBTA game Dungeon World to build the narrative collaboratively when called for. We will move beyond pass/fail to success with complications. Halmurrin is a place of tension and high stakes. Revify is out but death may strike a deal with those that aren't done fighting.

Content Description/Warnings:

Blood & gore, assassination, sacrificial rites, religious fanatics, political intrigue and espionage, god and goddess lore, rituals, beast & monster slaying, adult language and themes such as sex and drug use, themes of colonization, classism, and fantasy racism, witchcraft and the occult, body horror, illness/mind alteration, death, moral ambiguity

Safety Tools

I use lines and veils with each player as they join the campaign, as well as the use of x cards during play.
